Chain handle sits at a comfortable length for my height and the interior fit my phone wallet and a small makeup pouch without looking overstuffed. Polyurethane surface wiped clean after a spill. Only small drawback is the opening is a touch narrow when Im in a hurry but it still works for evenings.

There was enough room for everything I normally carry to dinner. The metallic surface is bolder in person than I pictured, so it may not suit a quiet outfit.
